December 29, 2015 … Power management company Eaton, an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 2015 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year, today announced its 93PM and Blade UPS uninterruptible power systems (UPSs) are ENERGY STAR® qualified following stringent third-party testing and verification to meet the program’s energy efficiency requirements. Building on Eaton’s robust portfolio of ENERGY STAR qualified UPS products, the latest validation extends Eaton’s leadership in eveloping innovative solutions that help facility and information technology (IT) managers address their power management needs while reducing electrical usage.

Engineered to meet the requirements of today’s growing data centers, the 93PM UPS offers industry-leading efficiency up to 99 percent through Eaton’s Energy Saver System (ESS) and delivers up to 97 percent efficiency in double-conversion mode. Dramatically increasing UPS efficiency without sacrificing protection, the platform allows customers to reduce energy and
operational costs while ensuring uptime of critical systems. Delivering a perfect three-phase white or grey space solution for today’s mission-critical applications, Eaton’s 93PM UPS offers one of the most compact physical footprints in its class and scalability in 50 kW increments to help end-users avoid unnecessary investments in excess capacity. Additionally, the 93PM
delivers true modular redundancy, negating the need to purchase a second model for paralleled reliability in most applications.

Eaton’s BladeUPS models rated from 8 to 60 kilowatts (kW) are ENERGY STAR qualified. BladeUPS systems feature a scalable and modular design, providing power protection and reliable power in a single, industry-standard 19-inch rack. The systems are designed to help users reduce operating expenses with more flexible configurations than traditional end-of-row solutions and save on rack space with a dense, 6U form factor.

Eaton also offers a 5 kW BladeUPS model, which rounds out the platform’s offering as a versatile plug-and-play solution for everything from small network closets to mid-sized computer rooms. Eaton’s 5 and 8 kW systems are engineered for easy installation with standard National Electrical Manufacturing Association (NEMA) receptacle configurations along with hotswappable batteries and electronics modules.

Media Brief

ENERGY STAR is the simple choice for energy efficiency. For more than 20 years, people across America have looked to the EPA’s ENERGY STAR program for guidance on saving energy, saving money and protecting the environment. Behind each blue label is a product, building or home that is independently certified to use less energy and cause fewer of the emissions that contribute to climate change.
